the Musucheon a worry-free stream
Encircling Camphor Tree Hotel & Resort, the Musucheon Stream—literally ‘the stream without worries’—is noted on the Joseon Dynasty’s Daedongyeojido and has long been valued as an auspicious site in Korean geomancy.
Camphor Tree Jeju’s Symbolic Tree
The camphor tree is Jeju’s symbolic tree. Its distinctive fragrance naturally repels insects, and its beneficial properties are known for their antibacterial and restorative effects, making it a tree of healing.
When you visit Camphor tree Hotel & Resort, a 200-year-old camphor tree will be the first to welcome you.
Harmony with Nature
Nature is our most important partner.
Rather than cutting down the trees that once stood on this land, we carefully relocated and replanted them. This process reflects the relationship we seek with nature and our commitment to creating a sustainable space.
Over time, these trees continue to remain and grow with the hotel. Camphor tree is made more meaningful through its harmony with nature.
A Roof Built with Nature,
Patterns Inspired by Jeju
Traditional Jeju houses were designed to withstand strong coastal winds by weaving straw ropes into net-like patterns and securing stones at the ends of the roof. This traditional net pattern has been reinterpreted in a modern architectural language at Camper tree.
A Roof Shaped Like the Ridge of Hallasan
Inspired by the gentle ridge of Hallasan,
its flowing curves have been reflected in the design of Camphor tree’s roof.
